Tasting Notes For Yalumba Y Series Viognier 2022

Bright straw in color with green hues. There are lovely aromas of orange blossom, fresh ginger, hints of honeysuckle and white flowers. The palate has fresh pineapple, Chinese white tea and dried figs leading to a creamy mid palate with a silky, textural finish. The wild fermentation and lees ageing gives the wine an extra level of complexity on the palate that belies its age.

Drinks perfectly with harissa chicken or crispy rice pancakes with potato and chickpeas.

Wine Enthusiast Review – Published 7/1/2022 – Rated 91:Despite being Yalumba’s entry-level Viognier, this is one of its most delicious white offerings. Highly aromatic, it wafts a perfume of honeysuckle, orchard blossom and fuzzy peach skin. The palate is more viscous than the nose implies, but there’s enough acidity to keep it fresh. Peach and lemon flavors linger on the finish. Drink with Thai curry or a similarly bold Southeast Asian dish. CHRISTINA PICKARD
